landschap<\/h2>\n<p>De Goorloop is een van de laatste open beken in Helmond. Ooit was dit beekdal een biodivers moeraslandschap dat grote hoeveelheden water kon vasthouden. Vandaag is die natuurlijke rol onder invloed van de landbouw grotendeels ingeperkt: de beek werd rechtgetrokken, water wordt zo snel mogelijk afgevoerd, en de stad is tot aan de oever gegroeid.<\/p>\n<p>In opdracht van de gemeente Helmond en in samenwerking met Waterschap Aa en Maas ontwikkelde BoschSlabbers een integrale visie voor het beekdal van de Goorloop: van bron tot monding, van beekzone tot stadsrand. Het gebied wordt opgedeeld in vier zones \u2013 van nat naar droog \u2013 met elk een eigen rol in het landschap. Zo krijgt in natte zones, dicht bij de beek, het water volop de ruimte. Hier ligt de nadruk op natuurontwikkeling en extensieve recreatie, zoals vlonderpaden door moerasgebied en bloemrijke oevers. Hogere delen worden dan weer expliciet ingericht voor hoogproductieve landbouw, woningbouw en recreatieve fietspaden. detail","content":"<h2>Landschap als een spons<\/h2>\n<p>In het beekdal van de Goorloop komen van nature kwelstromen voor: subtiele maar vitale ondergrondse waterstromen die van hogere zandgronden naar lagere beekdalen sijpelen, en daar weer aan de oppervlakte komen. Door verharding, drainage en verdroging zijn veel van deze kwelstromen stilgevallen.<\/p>\n<p>Hoewel vaak onzichtbaar, vormen kwelstromen de levensaders van het beekdal. Onze visie zet in op het herstel van de sponswerking van het landschap: via bodemverbetering, het dempen van sloten en het vasthouden van regenwater op hogere delen wordt het grondwaterpeil geleidelijk verhoogd. Daardoor ontstaan opnieuw stromende overgangen \u2013 ideaal voor moerasplanten en bedreigde diersoorten als de kamsalamander en de
