fundering<\/h2>\n<p>Op het zuid-westelijke puntje van de Binckhorst, gelegen aan de Trekvliet en tegen Voorburg en Rijswijk, lag het voormalige SDU terrein. Bestaande uit een robuust 7-9 verdiepingen kantoorgebouw en een flinke oppervlakte bedrijfshallen had het geheel een industrieel karakter passende bij het huidige Binckhorst. In het kader transformatie Binckhorst lag hier de kans tot de ontwikkeling van een prachtig woon-werkgebied: stoer, eigenstijds, rubuust en royaal.<\/p>\n<p>Binck Eiland is een herontwikkelingsproject van 8.000 m2 kantoor en 10.000 m2 bedrijfshal (het voormalige SDUcomplex) naar een multifunctioneel gebied waar wonen en werken met elkaar in verbinding staan. Het was de eerste grootschalige herontwikkeling van de Binckhorst, het nieuwe stadsdeel van Den Haag. De ontwikkeling van Binck Eiland stond geheel in het teken van het cre\u00ebren van een duurzame leefomgeving. Die doelstelling is op verschillende manieren ge\u00efntegreerd in het ontwerp van de gebouwen en het gebied. Zo is de gehele bedrijfshal hergebruikt op een nieuwe plek in Barneveld en de fundatie gebruikt voor nieuwe bebouwing. Daarnaast heeft er een vergroening plaatsgevonden die de voormalige hoeveelheid groen met 11 keer heeft ook ingezet op een eigen identiteit. Zo zijn er een viertal belangrijke invloeden te vinden die de identiteit van Binck Eiland bepalen:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>De aanwezige (en toekomstige) kwaliteit van de Binckhaven: een stoere watergerelateerde kadewereld met keien, stelconplaten, robuuste objecten en eigentijdse functies. Op Binck Eiland is ingezet op een doorlopende wandelroute, die gebruikt maakt van stoere materialisering, woningen met ruimte voor persoonlijke expressie en het toevoegen van water gerelateerd verblijf.<\/li>\n<li>Het toekomstige Trekvlietpark: een klimaatrobuust park met wateropvang, vergroening, ecologie en verblijf. De kop van Binck Eiland gaat hier onderdeel van uitmaken en wordt daarom klimaatrobuust ingericht.<\/li>\n<li>De Broeksloot: een ecologisch as met een sterk groene kwaliteit. Bij de inrichting van Binck Eiland hebben we deze lineaire as doorgezet en hebben we ecologische en recreatieve waarde toegevoegd aan deze zone. Wonen aan het ecologisch groen.<\/li>\n<li>Binck Eiland: omdat Binck Eiland het eerst ontwikkelde gebied is van de Binckhorst is een sterke eigen identiteit belangrijk, het is een voorbeeld geweest voor de andere ontwikkelingen. Het ontwerp zet in op herkenbare zones die de menselijke schaal toevoegen in dit voornamelijk industri\u00eble landschap. Samenhang in materialisering en uitgekiende maatvoering is hierbij van belang. Ook binnen het nieuwe bouwblok, boven op een parkeergarage is een bijzondere daktuin De kade is bij uitstek bedoeld om op een zomeravond in de namiddagzon te wandelen en te gaan zitten met de buren om bij te praten. De rand is getrapt vormgegeven zodat je hier lekker kan zitten. De kop van het eiland is groen ingericht met veel mogelijkheden voor verblijf, zoals een terras voor horeca en een lange zitrand gericht op de avondzon. Aan drie zijden rondom het bouwblok, dichtbij de woningen, is in de meubilairstrip voorzien om tussen het groen te kunnen zitten. Tussen de meubilairstrip en de woningen ligt een breed trottoir dat ook uitnodigt tot gebruik. Langs de woningen is voorzien in een uitstalstrook waar bewoners hun eigen bankje, bloempotten en accessoires kunnen
