opwaardering Vlietzone<\/h2>\n<p>De Rotterdamsebaan is, naast de Utrechtsebaan, de tweede route van en naar het centrum van Den Haag. Deze verbindt de A4-A13, via een tunnel onder de Vliet en de Binckhorstlaan, met de omgeving van zowel Station Hollands Spoor als Centraal Station.<\/p>\n<p>De Rotterdamsebaan doorsnijdt de Vlietzone, een gebied dat door de jaren heen een opmerkelijke omkering heeft ondergaan. Van landgoederenzone langs de Vliet in een verder open polderlandschap is het getransformeerd tot een relatief groene enclave binnen het stedelijk weefsel van groot Den Haag. \u2018Relatief groen\u2019, maar het was ook sterk versnipperd, recreatief weinig toegankelijk en sterk verrommeld. Het was zichtbaar dat dit gebied lange tijd bij zowel ontwikkelaar als bestuurder aan de aandacht is ontsnapt. Het resultaat was een caleidoscopische verzameling aan individuele elementen en functies, waarin elke vorm van samenhang ontbrak, waar het geheel zo veel minder was dan de som der delen.<\/p>\n<p>De opgave was de Rotterdamsebaan zodanig te ontwikkelen dat deze, ondanks de extra doorsnijding die het zou vormen, het gebied toch meer samenhang en een verbeterde toegankelijkheid brengt. Om de aanleg van de Rotterdamsebaan als middel te gebruiken dat weer eenheid in de verscheidenheid zou brengen en collectieve kwaliteit aan het gebied zou toevoegen. De aanleg van de Rotterdamsebaan heeft de weg geopend voor het ontwikkelen van een openbaar park en heemtuin, het recreatief toegankelijk maken van de Vlietzone en het upgraden van de Vliet met haar maaiveld<\/h2>\n<p>De Rotterdamsebaan is sinds het voorjaar van 2021 de tweede stadsentree van Den Haag. Het is een groene poort geworden; rijk beplante glooiingen bepalen het beeld en refereren aan het buitenplaats-verleden van de plek.<\/p>\n<p>De aanleg van de Rotterdamsebaan heeft een impuls gegeven aan de ontwikkeling van nabij gelegen voorzieningen, waaronder attractiepark Drievliet. Drievliet kreeg de kans om uit te breiden en heeft meer &#8216;slecht weer&#8217; voorzieningen in een hal ondergebracht. Deze hal is in het samenspel van groenstructuren en geplooid maaiveld ge\u00efntegreerd; de hal is vanuit de omgeving herkenbaar aanwezig zonder over de omgeving te domineren. De nieuwe hal en het huidige Drievliet zijn verbonden met het nieuwe parkeerterrein door middel van een nieuwe fiets- en voetgangersbrug. Zij zijn ingekaderd door de bossen op de buitenplaatsen, de kade van de Molensloot en een glooiend grondlichaam dat zowel recreatiepark Drievliet als de Rotterdamsebaan afschermt. Het verkeer op de Rotterdamsebaan is vanuit het park nauwelijks zichtbaar.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Zocher en de weidekamer &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>De weide is een relict van de oorspronkelijk veel grotere polder. De vormgeving is ge\u00efnspireerd op de Molenwei die in de 19e eeuw is ontworpen door de bekende landschapsarchitect Zocher.\u00a0De wei laat zich bereiken via bruggen vanaf de Molenkade, over het vlonderpad of vanaf de kade met het kabelpontje. Schelpenpaden ontsluiten de weide. Hollandse luchten spiegelen zich in de sloten waarin het water zo hoog staat dat het bijna naadloos overgaat in het aanliggend grasland, waar schapen geduldig grazen. Knotwilgen en elzen geven diepte aan de doorzichten over deze verstilde open ruimte.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Beslotenheid in de rietlandkamer &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>Vanaf het talud langs de Rotterdamsebaan scheert een gebogen vlonderpad over het water door het rieteiland waarna het eindigt bij een zitelement in de weide. Hier wordt de wandelaar omsloten door hoog opgaand riet en geniet men een heel andere beleving dan in de open weide. Het rieteiland is een verzameling van kavels waar riet in meer of mindere mate inzicht","content":"<h2>250.000 regentonnen en een paaiplaats voor vissen<\/h2>\n<p>Het Molenvlietpark is meer dan een prettig wandelgebied, het maakt ook dat de omgeving bij hevige neerslag droge voeten houdt. Het park is noodberging, het is zo ontworpen dat het 60.000 m3 water kan bergen, dat zijn ruim 250.000 regentonnen.<\/p>\n<p>Evenwijdig aan de Kansjesmolensloot ligt een vispaaiplaats &#8211; een soort kraamkamer voor vis. Het water is er ondiep. Zo warmt het in het voorjaar snel op. Bijna alle oevers in het park zijn natuurvriendelijke oevers. Ook zijn er veel water- en oeverplanten waartussen vissen zich kunnen verstoppen en ongestoord kunnen paaien \u00e9n opgroeien.
