Schootsveld<\/h2>\n<p>De stad vestingstad Naarden kent een lange geschiedenis. Na voortdurende bedreigingen is in de 17<sup>e<\/sup> eeuw de \u2013 \u00a0nog vandaag bestaande \u2013 vesting om de stad gebouwd, omgeven door open schootsvelden. In de\u00a019<sup>e<\/sup> eeuw wordt Naarden onderdeel van de Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie. De schootsvelden worden afgegraven waardoor zij gestuurd onder water kunnen worden gezet. Stad, vestingwerken en schootsvelden vormen een drie-eenheid.<\/p>\n<p>In de twintigste eeuw heeft Naarden een sterke groei doorlopen; de stad is letterlijk uit haar vesting gegroeid. Met de aanleg van een aantal nieuwbouwwijken is de relatie tussen vestingstad en schootsvelden vergaand verloren gegaan. Rond de stad liggen nog een aantal open, in de zin van onbebouwde, ruimten, maar de historische samenhang van deze ruimten met de vesting is voor vesting Naarden<\/h2>\n<p>Dit gebrek aan ruimtelijke samenhang was de aanleiding in opdracht van het Goois Natuurreservaat een toekomstvisie te doen opstellen. Centraal in de toekomstvisie staat de gewenste ontwikkeling van de omgeving van de vesting Naarden, in samenhang met de vesting zelf en met het gebied binnen de veste.<\/p>\n<p>Het doel van deze visie is drieledig. Op het hoogste schaalniveau geeft deze visie aan hoe de resterende open ruimten om de vesting kunnen bijdragen aan een versterkte koppeling tussen Naardermeer, Gooimeer en Heuvelrug. Op lokaal niveau geeft deze visie aan hoe de resterende open ruimten een kwaliteitsimpuls kunnen krijgen. Tot slot biedt deze visie een toetsingskader ten aanzien van toekomstige
